Paddy's Day

Ok so I'm a few days late with this post, but I was still busy looking for the pot of gold! Needless to say I didn't find it, but on the upside (kind of) I found the motivation to start writing my Dissertation... which is due Thursday. (Prayed to St Patrick for an extension, he better be working on it.) Fun times.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you all my amazingly patriotic nails for Paddy's Day. I did get a few funny looks but I'm going to say it was out of jealously. I was waiting to go to the local parade and had the appropriate colour so went a bit mad. Hope everyone had a great weekend :)

R.I.P Elizabeth Taylor

When people say, 'She's got everything', I've got one answer - I haven't had tomorrow.” A quote from the legend that was Elizabeth Taylor.

Born in London on February 27th, 1932. Taylor featured in her first film at the mere age of 9 years old, in, There's One Born Every Minute. Less than 6 months after that she signed her first ever contract with Universal Pictures, which did not last long due to commitments with the company.

From there Taylor's star grew and grew, and she became the legend we know today...

In 2004, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and on March 23rd, 2011, surrounded but her four loving children, in California at the age of 79, she sadly passed away.

She is survived by her, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The Benefits of Benefit!

Having just completed an Assignment for College on the Importance of E-Commerce to Benefit Cosmetics, I realise how much more I LOVE IT!

Benefit Cosmetics was created in 1976, by twin sisters Jean and Jane Ford. Born in San Francisco the twins grew up with the dream of making a brand that some day everyone would want and love. They soon realised there was a market for specialised cosmetics with NO animal testing and that was ALOT of fun!

And so... Benefit Cosmetics was born. The theme of their first store was Candy. So that when you walked in your felt like you were on a cloud and could taste everything around you. Amazing. And that is just what they did.
Now, like then, When you walk into any of their stores you feel like you are in a bubble of Light, Airy, Pink, Girly World.

The packaging and products alone speak for themselves.
posie tint

The packaging unique and instantly recognisable throughout the world at this stage. As Benefit Cosmetics sells to over 30 Countries across the Globe. Including Ireland.. although it is only counters we have in specialised stores like Brown Thomas and Arnotts... I think we are all hoping that they will open a full store in the near future.
Back to the packaging and product names... posie tint for lip and cheek tint? Perfect. Well its not just that!
BADgal mascara and eyeliner. Liquid Blusher = Benetint. Concealer = Boi-ing. Foundation = Some kind-a gorgeous. Face Powder = Bella Bamba, Hoola, Dallas, 10, Thrrrob. Primer = that gal. Under-eye = Ooh la lift.

As well as selling all these amazing makeups separately, you can also get all in one kits. Like this;
Smokin' Eyes

Beautiful Big Eyes

Every piece of make up last for ages, so even though it is a little pricey, it does the job and less need to be bought.

So Enjoy Benefit Cosmetics! :)

New year...new laughs!

The happiest of new years to all our followers of fashiongeek!
2011 is apon us like a ton of bricks and isnt it great....bringing a new year, fresh start and a lot of resoultions that will take the best out of us to stick to!!

Here at fashiongeek we had the opportunity to see one of the best comidians in ireland, and what a way that was to start the new year!

Over the last 5 years, once you mention Tommy Tiernans name it opens a gate for a lot of mixed reviews..but my god the man is back!

With regular hits on the state of the economy & the IMF...you cant but thank the man for taking the utter p*ss out of the country and finally giving people to laugh!

At the end of 'Crooked Man', Tommy makes you proud to be Irish, you feel you leave vicar street with a relaxed perspective on the recent national trauma and comfortable in your own skin.

With his show running throughout the month of january.....it would be but a shame to miss it!!
